Privacy policy
Plain version: we collect what we need to run your menu and answer your questions, we don't sell it, and you can take it with you or have it deleted.
Last updated: 1 August 2026
This policy explains what Zideira does with information from two groups of people: the businesses who subscribe to Zideira, and the guests who scan a menu built with it.
If you run a business on Zideira
We hold the details you give us when you sign up and use the service:
- Your name, business name, email address and phone number
- Your branch addresses, opening hours and delivery areas
- Your menu content — items, prices, photos and descriptions
- Orders placed through your menu, and the reports built from them
- Billing details. Card numbers are handled by our payment provider and never stored on our servers
- Basic technical logs — IP address, browser and the pages you opened — kept for security and troubleshooting
We use it to provide the service, take payment, send you service notices, and answer you when you get in touch. We do not sell it, rent it, or hand it to advertisers.
If you scanned a menu
When you browse a Zideira menu we record anonymous usage — which items were viewed, from which table code, on what kind of device. This is aggregated for the restaurant's reports and is not tied to your identity.
If you place an order, the restaurant receives the details needed to fulfil it: your name, phone number, delivery address if applicable, your order and any notes you added. The restaurant, not Zideira, is the owner of that information. We process it on their behalf. To have it corrected or removed, contact the restaurant directly, or write to us and we'll pass it on.
Cookies and similar
We use cookies and local storage for things that would otherwise be broken: keeping you signed in, remembering your basket between page loads, and remembering your language choice. We also keep aggregate analytics on how the site and menus are used. No advertising cookies and no third-party tracking pixels are placed on guest-facing menus.
Who else sees it
A small number of suppliers process data so the service can run: our hosting provider, our payment gateway, and the messaging services used for order alerts if you switch them on. Each of them only receives what their job requires. We may also disclose information where we're legally obliged to.
How long we keep things
Account and menu data is kept while your account is active. If you close your account, we delete or anonymise your data within 90 days, except records we're required to keep for accounting and tax purposes. Order records are kept for as long as the restaurant's plan allows and can be exported at any time.
Your rights
- Ask for a copy of what we hold about you
- Ask for anything inaccurate to be corrected
- Ask for your data to be deleted
- Export your menu, orders and guest list yourself, from your dashboard, whenever you like
- Object to a particular use of your data
Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit, passwords are hashed, and access to production data is limited to staff who need it. No system is perfectly safe, but if a breach affects your data we will tell you promptly and tell you what to do about it.
Children
Zideira is a business tool and is not directed at children. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll email account holders before it takes effect. The date at the top always shows the current version.
